This video takes a deep dive into the Frontier WR3110 High Capacity Carted Wheel Rake (US CA). It’s one of three models in the WR31 High Capacity Carted Wheel Rake Series including the WR3108 and the WR3112.
These rakes use 8, 10, or 12 rake wheels, and have working widths ranging from 15 – 24 feet (4.57 – 7.32 m).
Like the WR00 Series, these rakes also offer features that improve performance over previous models.
The rake arm pivot joints and the rake wheel pivot joints provide flexibility over uneven ground conditions. In addition, the fine tune spring allows the operator to adjust the down pressure on each rake arm.
Adjusting windrow width is easy using the rake’s hitch jack along with a single pin and clip system.
An optional center kick wheel turns the center of the windrow for a fluffier, more even windrow, which helps speed drydown.
Each model offers standard 2-arm raking, as well as left- and right-side only raking.
When hooking up the rake, an adjustable hitch allows you to easily raise or lower the rake to make it level with your tractor’s drawbar.
The rake wheels use 7 mm (.28 in) tines and are 60 in (152.4 cm) in diameter, which is larger than most other wheel rakes. The larger wheels turn more slowly, resulting in less wear on the tines and less leaf loss in your crop.
Perhaps the most exciting feature on each WR31 Series Carted Wheel Rake is the hydraulic KwikPik system that completely raises both rake arms simultaneously when making a turn. The result is a cleaner windrow all the way to the end for your baler, and less crop left in the field.
These rakes also feature plenty of ground clearance below the rake frame to handle heavy crops.
When moving from field to field, both rake arms fold simultaneously onto the transport cart and provide a stable position for transport. Just secure the optional center kick wheel (if installed), close the two hydraulic lock-out valves, and you’re ready to go.
