Fill Your Loader Bucket Every Time

Knowing some of the tricks of the trade can make any job just a little bit easier. Getting a good, full load in your loader bucket is just one of them. It may look easy, and it isn’t hard, but there are a couple techniques you should know that will help you fill your loader bucket with any material every time.

So here’s Tip #1. Put your tractor in low gear and don’t be shy about driving your bucket deep into the material pile. You bought your equipment to do just this kind of work. So don’t hold back. Quality-made equipment will stand up to it.

Tip #2. Keep your bucket flat as you drive well into the pile. Then using the joy stick, begin tilting your bucket back and lifting it while it’s still in the pile. By moving forward, tilting, and lifting all at virtually the same time, you’ll really fill your loader bucket and keep that load from falling out.

And here’s a real tip: Despite what you might think, it’s not really about horsepower. It’s about hydraulics. Having a strong hydraulic system is the key to doing any kind of powerful loader work.

Drive. Tilt. Lift. Then back away. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll fill your loader bucket every time.
